Our Story

We met in 2016 during our senior year of high school, thanks to our mutual friend Carl, whom we had both known since middle school. He showed each of us a photo of the other and asked what we thought. Not long after, we were on a chaperoned movie date with Carl and one of Camryn’s friends to see Rogue One. That night, we exchanged contact information and, since then, have talked every day.

Soon after, we planned our first official date without chaperones. We played mini golf, wandered around the Embassy shopping center, and ended the night at Denny’s, sharing macaroni and fries. Neither of us wanted the night to end.

From there, everything started to fall into place. We went on dates all around San Antonio, attended each other’s high school graduations, and spent every moment we could together before college started. After a summer full of memories, we decided to try long distance with Camryn in Washington, D.C., and Mason in Austin, Texas.

During our long-distance era, we talked every night, found creative ways to stay connected like syncing up shows for virtual date nights, and made lasting memories together in both Texas and D.C.

In 2019, Camryn moved back to San Antonio while Mason stayed in Austin. We continued our long-distance date nights and weekend visits, now just a drive apart. When COVID-19 hit, we spent the first few months apart, but that summer Camryn moved in with Mason and his roommates, Dane and JohnAidan. We cooked meals together, shared a space for the first time, played games, and enjoyed what felt like a sleepover every night with your best friend.  It was a new chapter filled with comfort, laughter, and the joy of simply being together.

After graduation, we found our first apartment on French Place in San Antonio. Our endless sleepover continued, this time with our cat (and son), Bennett, and we officially started our family. That apartment will always be special to us. Our parents and families helped us clean, move in, and settle into our new life, and it was the first time all of our things came together in one place.

After living together for three years, we decided in 2024 to buy a home in the Woodlawn Lake and Jefferson area, where Mason grew up. While we were moving in, a fluffy white and orange cat started visiting and eventually made our porch his home. We began feeding him, spending time with him every day, and named him Pants because of the long fur on his legs that looked like pants. In May 2024, Pants officially became the newest member of our family.

In September 2024, we took our first road trip to Colorado, stopping along the way in Marfa, Texas, Santa Fe, New Mexico, and several national parks and scenic spots. During a hike at Garden of the Gods, we reached the Three Graces formation. Mason asked a nearby hiker to take a photo, and as we posed, they pulled out a ring and got down on one knee. Then Camryn pulled out a ring too and proposed right back. We were overjoyed to have proposed to each other at the same time. It felt perfect, and we both said yes.

After seven years of dating, we got engaged, and as of March 3, 2025, we have celebrated eight years together. We can’t wait to begin our marriage era and continue this adventure for the rest of our lives.
